Site Services Manager

VEX Group is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Site Services Manager to join our growing leadership team.

This role is responsible for leading the identification, planning, quoting, coordination, and delivery of maintenance, shutdown, project, fabrication, and workshop opportunities across our client base. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving business growth, developing client relationships, securing new work, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.

As a key leader within the business, the Site Services Manager will act as the primary interface between clients, site personnel, workshop teams, and management, ensuring seamless project execution and exceptional client outcomes.

About the Role

The Site Services Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong client relationships while actively identifying and converting new work opportunities across mining, CHPP, maintenance, shutdown, and project environments.

The role requires regular site attendance to engage with clients, identify upcoming work scopes, support project delivery, and maintain a strong operational presence. In addition to commercial and coordination responsibilities, the Site Services Manager will provide hands-on leadership and supervision support on-site as required.

This position offers a unique blend of business development, operational leadership, project coordination, commercial management, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Relationship Management

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

• Identify and secure maintenance, shutdown, project, fabrication, and engineering opportunities.

• Generate quotations, proposals, and tender submissions.

• Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and support business growth targets.

• Promote VEX Group's maintenance, labour hire, fabrication, engineering, drafting, design, project delivery, and 3D scanning capabilities.

• Expand services into new sites, departments, and operational areas.

Commercial & Project Management

• Prepare and review quotations, estimates, and project budgets.

• Ensure projects are commercially viable and achieve targeted profit margins.

• Monitor project performance, costs, variations, and financial outcomes.

• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.

• Provide regular reporting on project performance, pipeline activity, and business development initiatives.

Site Services & Operational Leadership

• Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of site-based maintenance, shutdown, and project works.

• Coordinate resources, labour, equipment, logistics, and subcontractors.

• Support supervisors and project teams to achieve successful project outcomes.

• Facilitate project planning meetings, client reviews, and execution planning activities.

• Monitor project progress and ensure effective communication between stakeholders.

Workshop & Fabrication Growth

• Drive workshop utilisation through the generation and conversion of fabrication, overhaul, refurbishment, and maintenance opportunities.

• Coordinate workshop workloads with project schedules and client requirements.

• Support achievement of workshop revenue and utilisation targets.

Leadership & Team Development

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and support to supervisors, coordinators, and project personnel.

• Foster a positive, accountable, and high-performing team culture.

• Assist with workforce planning, succession planning, and capability development.

• Support recruitment and development of personnel as the business grows.

Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Champion VEX Group's commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.

• Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and legislative obligations.

• Identify opportunities to improve safety, productivity, quality, and profitability.

• Participate in incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions where required.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Trade qualification or relevant industry experience within mining, maintenance, shutdown, fabrication, or project environments.

• Previous experience in project management, operations management, supervision, business development, or client management roles.

• Strong commercial and financial acumen.

• Proven ability to develop client relationships and secure new work opportunities.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
