An established mining services business is seeking an experienced and commercially minded operator to help drive the next phase of growth across its labour hire, field service and shutdown divisions.

Let's be clear from the outset.

We're not looking for someone to manage what we've already got.

We're looking for someone to grow it.

The foundations are already in place. Existing clients, workforce capability, operational systems and established industry relationships already exist.

What we need is someone who can build on that platform, create opportunities, strengthen relationships, open doors and bring more work through the business.

If you're the type of person who waits for the phone to ring, this role probably isn't for you.

The Role

This is a hands-on business development and growth role focused on the mining and resources sector.

You will be expected to build relationships, visit mine sites, identify opportunities, meet decision makers and help convert opportunities into revenue.

The successful applicant will play a key role in growing labour hire, field service, shutdown and project work throughout the Bowen Basin and surrounding regions.

This is not a recruitment desk role.

This is not a role for someone who wants to sit behind a computer managing spreadsheets.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being in front of clients, building trust and creating opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with mining companies, contractors and key stakeholders

• Identify labour hire, field service, shutdown and project opportunities

• Grow existing client relationships and spend

• Bring new clients into the business

• Build and manage a pipeline of future work

• Assist with workforce planning and mobilisation requirements

• Work closely with operational teams to ensure client expectations are delivered

• Contribute to business growth initiatives and long-term strategy

About You

You may currently be working as a:

• Business Development Manager

• Labour Hire Manager

• Recruitment Manager

• Operations Manager

• Mining Supervisor

• Maintenance Coordinator

• Or someone with strong mining industry networks looking for a new challenge

Most importantly, you know how to build relationships and create opportunities.

You present professionally, communicate confidently and know how to adjust your approach to suit the audience.

You can have a straightforward conversation with tradespeople in the workshop, speak professionally with superintendents and managers, and build credibility with clients at every level of an organisation.

You understand that strong relationships are built on trust, respect and delivering on what you say you'll do.

You don't create unnecessary friction, politics or drama.

You work with the people in front of you, not against them.

You know when to have a laugh, when to listen and when to have the difficult conversations required to move things forward.

Most importantly, you're comfortable getting out from behind a desk.

If the thought of walking onto a mine site, attending client meetings, introducing yourself to decision makers and chasing opportunities makes you uncomfortable, this role won't be the right fit.
